Brownsville Fire Department Endorsing Use of Drones to Combat

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Fire Department is now using drones to combat fires.

Fire Chief Carlos Elizondo says these drones can potentially save lives.

That is because the drones provide a better view of a fire which can be used to assess resources.

They estimate that the aerial views can help them save time that can be used to combat the fire directly.

“We’re using everything we can in our arsenal to do everything as quickly and efficiently. To protect lives and property. So far the drone has done that.” says Chief Elizondo.

So far the Brownsville Fire Department has been operating drones and training at their own expense.
