NFL players will be catching footballs from drones at the Pro Bowl skills competition

The NFL nailed it by adding dodgeball to its Pro Bowl skills competition, but I’m not so sure about this latest addition…

That’s right, players will be catching footballs dropped from a drone flying around the sky.  This has the potential to be extremely boring or extremely dangerous, and there’s really no middle ground.

Either it’s just players catching a football easily, or it’s much tougher than I think it will be and these guys will misjudge the path of the footballs, which I assume will be falling at a rapid pace, and maybe break a finger or take a pigskin to the dome — as if NFL players didn’t take enough hits to the head this season.

The Pro Bowl skills competition airs Thursday night at 7 ET on ESPN. Will you be watching the Drone Drop? Vote in our very important poll…
